RMB Dance turns 5!

For me there's always something to look forward to in January, as it's RMB Dance's anniversary!

This week marks five years of RMB Dance, which may not sound like many to some. But in January 2021 the world was so different, going through a worldwide pandemic, that whilst five years isn't really a huge length of time in business terms, it feels significant considering the start of our journey was somewhat atypical and interesting to say the least!

From lockdown lessons to restricted studio classes, slowly building to our first show and then all that followed, I couldn't haven't predicted our story so far! It's been more than I could have hoped, and if I had to choose a favourite year I'd probably say it's been this past one.

It's been a year of new experiences, growth and progress. Some of my highlights:

* We performed our third show, raising £1015 for CHAS 💜

* We continued to develop our community work, performing numerous times in local care homes 🏡

* We were shortlisted for 2 awards: Best Dance school for Community Engagement (Scottish Dance Awards) and The Community Award (Creative Edinburgh Awards) 😊

* We had our first 'Bring a friend week' 👫

* We held our first drawing competition to design our next show logo ✏️

Whilst these are the big highlights, the day-to-day moments in the studio with our dancers are just as important, and are what make the bigger things possible.
