ABOUT
Hi! I'm Rachel Barlow, founder and principal of RMB Dance Edinburgh. I set up RMB Dance in January 2021, after several years of training and teaching experience. I hold an MSc Dance Science and Education, BA(Hons) Dance, PVG, Insurance and First Aid, as well as various CPD certificates in working with children and young people. To find out more about me, do take a look at my 'Meet the Teacher' blog post over on the 'Blog' page.
My previous experiences have led me to realise just how much of a great impact dance can have on children's wellbeing. Especially now, at a time when children's physical and mental wellbeing is paramount, children can really benefit from using dance as an outlet for their energy and feelings. I firmly believe that dance can provide children with a unique opportunity to express themselves and learn life skills, as well as develop physical skills and practice an active lifestyle.
RMB Dance focuses on 'promoting positivity through dance'. This means that classes focus on creating strong minds as well as strong bodies, using dance to develop skills such as resilience and respect. Children are welcomed into a positive environment where they can be themselves, challenge themselves, and share a love of dance with their peers. We emphasise individuality over uniformity, and I am proud to have an extremely diverse community of dancers.

We also promote positivity by using our love of dance to do good in our city. As a non-competitve dance school, we engage in alternative opportunities such as performing frequently in local care homes and annual charity showcases, and so far have raised over £3,400 for 3 Scottish charities. Check out our blog to find out what else we get up to!
