ECHC - Amount Reveal!

In case anyone missed our amount reveal from our show in aid of Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity, I'm so proud to say that we raised an INCREDIBLE £1,362!!

To be honest I didn't have a specific amount goal prior to the show, but to say I certainly didn't think we'd raise over a thousand is something of an understatement. As my dad and I counted the donations, we could hardly believe what we were counting. Of course our dancers deserved every penny for their efforts, but in the times we're living in we were blown away by people's generosity.

Our dancers worked extremely hard to put on a super show with the intention of raising as much as possible, so really it's down to them and their families that we raised this much. They put their hearts not only into their dancing but into the fundraising too.

I'm particularly proud of how proactive and enthusiastic our dancers were with this. They were so excited bringing their sponsor forms and money to class, happily telling me who they'd been asking to sponsor them and how much they had raised. Even our littlest pre-school dancers got involved, asking their families and friends for sponsorship!

At RMB Dance we emphasise kindness, and I'd like to think that our show provided a valuable lesson in giving and charity. Some of our superstars even sponsored themselves, donating from their own pocket money. Thank you to our dancers' families, because this was obviously supported and encouraged at home. I know some of our dancers' grown ups even took their sponsor forms into work: a brilliant team effort all round.

On show day, just before the audience came in, we reminded ourselves why we were doing this and the reason for all our efforts. As I said in my previous blog post, I was proud, impressed and surprised (in a great way!) at just how amazing our dancers were. Despite the nerves and the heat 🌞, they put absolutely everything they had into their performances and showed the very best of themselves. I believe this is the reason we raised as much as we did.

Last week, we had the honour of having a staff member from the charity visit us in the studio and presenting our donation. She passed on sincere thanks and was particularly impressed considering this was our first show! I really enjoyed chatting in person and hearing some incredible stories about how they support children and their families. I also got to hear about some exciting plans for their upcoming projects; it's safe to say our donation was so gratefully received.

So, a heartfelt "thank you" for every single donation. The level of what can be achieved with effort and teamwork really is amazing.
