Hello 2024 and Happy New Year! Just after the new year is RMB Dance’s anniversary. So, I like to take it as an opportunity to reflect on the previous year and our whole journey so far. This time three years ago we launched classes, online due to the pandemic, and wow we've come a long way since then!
This past year has been huge for us in so many ways. When I reflect back to our first classes, I can count our initial number of students on one hand. Now, we have more than 50 students enrolled in our studio classes!
Whilst there's been wonderful growth in our number of students and classes, this past year has also involved lots of 'firsts' and new experiences for our dancers. Here are just a few of my highlights from the past year...
* We performed our first show, raising over £1,300 for Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity 💪
* We enjoyed our first Winter Choreography Celebration 🥳
* We've doubled our number of classes and students 💃
* We've delivered numerous fully-booked holiday clubs ☀️
* We've expanded beyond our studio classes, now dancing with nurseries, primary schools and charities across Edinburgh 😊
Beyond all this, we've continued to establish ourselves as a community: developing friendships, respecting each other, working hard, having fun and sharing a real passion for dance. I look at our dance family and am so proud of who we are and what we represent.
Whilst I have several ideas for RMB Dance this next year, I keep them mostly flexible. Since the beginning, I've tried to plan and adapt according to the children's interests. So I'm excited for the year ahead and all the adventures, planned and not yet planned! There is one very big plan that I'll be announcing in the coming days, so keep your eyes peeled!
I would not be able to write any of this without our dancers and families, who make RMB Dance what it is. I'm so very thankful to everyone who has been involved in our journey. Now onto Year 4 and continuing to grow!
