Presenting...our SECOND SHOW!

Believe me when I say there's been MUCH excitement in the studio since the announcement of our second show!

Our first show last year has been a recurring topic of conversation among our dancers ever since the performance. Hearing our dancers chatting about how much they enjoyed it and reminiscing about aspects of the day has been so lovely. They've been asking, quite persistently, when our next show will be. So, how could I resist?!

This year our show is titled 'Dance It Out', reflecting our ethos of using dance as a positive form of self-expression. Given the huge growth in our dance school in the past 6 months, this year we're performing 2 shows: half of our classes will perform at 2pm and the other half at 4pm. I'm so excited to see all the children taking to the stage again, and several of them for the first time.

The children who performed in last year's show know how much work has to go in, not just by me but by themselves too. I'm glad that they're not put off by that. On the contrary, they're so up for this! I'm incredibly proud of their willingness to work hard and push themselves out of their comfort zones. This also confirms my belief that dance classes can be both fun and meaningful. In the right environment, children can simultaneously have fun whilst also learning the value of really challenging yourself and working hard.

They know the end goal will be worth it. With our shows being in aid of charity, I'm trying to teach our dancers that doing your best can not only make yourself feel amazing but hugely benefit others too! They were so proud of how much we raised last year and we're ready to go again!

We're using our skills and passion to help others, and what a privilege it is that we can do that. This year our chosen charity is Simpsons Special Care Babies, which I'll be talking more about in a future blog post.

For now, we're busy working hard in the studio and look forward to updating you on our progress!
