Performance at Gracemount Mansion!

On Saturday, a group of our dancers performed at Gracemount Mansion's community party!

This was our second time at this event, having performed there back in February. That day, we danced through bitter cold and biting wind, but this time we were blessed with a beautiful, sunny summer evening! The glorious weather attracted the crowds and we had a much bigger audience this time, but as always our dancers took it on the chin and got on with it.

Talking of taking it on the chin... an accident during Saturday's performance presented a wonderful teaching opportunity. If you saw our social media post, or were lucky enough to witness it in person, you'll know that I took a tumble during my brief appearance in one of the routines to support a lift!

Whilst I was embarrassed of course, it was an ideal opportunity to show our dancers that I'm only human, and I fall over and make mistakes too! I always say to our dancers before our shows: "if you fall over, get up and carry on", so I was able to practise what I preach! We laughed, carried on, and ultimately it wasn't the end of the world and will be a funny memory we'll hold on to (and I'm sure will be mentioned by our dancers at classes more than once!)

Thank you to Gracemount Mansion for having us and a HUGE well done to our dancers. I'm so proud of how they embrace these experiences and enjoy their dancing and sharing it with others. It's not easy to turn up to a new place and perform, but they do it so effortlessly now.

We're now into our final week of term; for me the past few weeks have just flown by. I think that's because we've been so busy with our show, 2 community events, Bring A Friend Week, birthday parties and everything else! And as I always say to our dancers when they say the class felt short: time flies when you're having fun! The dancing doesn't stop over the summer though, as we're straight into camps next week 🕺
